Yes that's me... Wearing my swim team race suit on a beach family vacation when I was about 8 years old. And it's a good thing since my mom used to have my sister and I swim up and down the beach as a swim practice replacement when on vacation. Sounds kind of crazy but I was so hyped on swimming , I actually enjoyed getting in the open water swim while most other kids we're making sand castles and boogie boarding:) Don't get me wrong, I had my fair share of fun on our beach vacations too! Not much has changed since then, basically I have just replaced that suit with this suit...
On the training front, things are going pretty smooth in the SLC. Inversion has subsided, and with the weather a little warmer, it leaves time for long outdoor rides with my training buddies and friends, a little race pace mixed into runs and well we're not swimming outside just yet but meters are in the near future. I love days like this past Saturday when a 4 hr ride turns into 5 and I find myself chasing two beasts on the bike ... Thanks Marc and Cher!! Although it is a challenge to chase, I somewhat enjoy unexpectedly hammering my body ,running after and heading straight to work to serve tables upstairs and close down the restaurant. Talk about endurance training, that was one for the books! As I approach race season I am getting super hyped!! Who knows I might have test out these legs a little earlier than I expected, but on that I will keep ya posted:) After all ...the finish line never gets old:)
