Race Report St. George

Alright it's been a week since my second professional race and I've had plenty of time to reflect on
how my day went at the US Pro Championships in St George. Let me start by saying this was not the best day for me and not my best performance which was pretty disappointing. I ended up with an 18th place in a stacked feild of women , who quite honestly I would normally be asking for autographs from rather than towing the line with, but it was an awesome experience none the less.  This might be the most disheartening race I have done in a while ...not because I placed 18th but because I didn't feel like my times reflected the work I have personally been doing in training . This race report will not be my typical routine with the play by plays and specific times . Instead I'll just
fill you in on the highlights( the stuff that keeps me coming back for more )  and lowlights ( the stuff
that just drives me to work harder :)

Highlights!
1)Awesome field to race against and awesome transition set up with my own placard and box ! Crazy how the little things can make a difference in stress on race morning
2) Meeting a fellow Wattie ! Thanks Adam for coming and saying quick hi and thanks Jake for reaching out too
3) Accommodations. Jake rented us an awesome condo with plenty of  space and room for grilling, chilling and just relaxing for race day
4) Kickass Sherpas ! Thanks Jess, Paul, Steph and Julie for the amazing support on race day complete with getting up at 3:30 am and amazing posters like this one  :)
5) Getting  interviewed by the news! Jake and I made the 5 o'clock news  on a peice about the  Ironman .  It was actually really fun to be in camera ( even if it was about 2 minutes after I crossed the line :)
Lowlights!
1) I did not have a good bike split . For those who know me you know that this is a work in progress and I have indeed been working at it but unfortunately it did not show on Saturday
2)  Run split: once again not a good display of my running abilities. Basically I felt like I had nothing in the tank that day all day long.
3) Low on energy / fuel felt like a battle all day and couldn't recover from it mentally or physically
I guess even on a tough day ther are still more highlights than lowlights when it comes to triathlon:)

Even on a tough day, the finish line never gets old and I would not make it to the start or finish line
without the support I have. Thanks to Braveheart Coaching SLC, OFS, The Healing Willow, Tom at Wasatch Health Solutions, and the Wattie Ink Team and all of our amazing sponsors. A huge hug to
Jake and all of my friends and family for getting me across the line that day,   A big congratulations to everyone who raced that day . Sarah. Jarvis thanks  for showing me the ropes and congrats on a great race !!
