With Ironman Lousville fast approaching , ( 5 days away!!), all of the physical work is done with the exception of some small efforts to keep me sharp. But as many of you endurance junkies know, this event is only part physical and mental strength will play a huge role in my execution on Sunday. For this reason I dedicate at least one workout this week to have a Pre race meeting with myself. Basically it consists of mantras, confidence quotes and visualization of what I am about to embark on. My pre race meeting today was all about the top 5 things I will commit to on race day!
1. I will have fun
2. I will give myself no excuses, no outs
3. I will deal with and trouble shoot any problems that come my way
4. I will take chances and push myself
5. I will not give up
Well that's it, pretty straight forward and simple but when in high stress situations when you are tired, foggy headed, covered in sweat, gu and snot it is hard to remember why it is you committed to such a thing. I have gotten through the commitment of the physical training, all that is left is my commitment to try and stick to my mental goals. I am super excited to travel to a new place with different scenery, it should be a great learning experience for me!! I am sure I will come back with many stories... I always do......

So excited for you Katy!!! You're going to have an incredible race!!
